Apply for a student visa
After you have completed the application and enrollment process, you will be issued with an Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE). Once you have this, you can apply to the department of Home Affairs for a visa. You may choose to use a Registered Migration Agent or you may choose to complete the application yourself.

Once you have received your visa, you must abide by its terms and conditions. If you do not, you can be sent home and won’t be able to complete your course. Conditions include (but are not limited to):
- Satisfy attendance and or course progress requirements and remain enrolled for your program.
- Make sure to only work within the number of hours agreed upon in your visa conditions.
- Maintain an active Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) while in staying in Australia.
- Informing your Australian training provider of your current Australian address, contact details (i.e. phone and email address), and emergency contact details within 7 days of moving.
- Complete the course within the duration specified in the eCoE you received.
- You will satisfy an hourly requirement for at least six months or you’re released to go through the education program.
The principal course refers to the main course of study that a student visa is issued for, especially when the visa covers multiple courses. It is typically the final course in the series of studies.
